A Piece of Minnesota for the White House

One of the highlights of 2016 was designing our seventh annual Minnesota-inspired White House tree ornament collection with Juxtaposition Arts.

December 20, 2016. Minneapolis

This was our seventh year designing the White House National Tree ornament, partnering again with Juxtaposition Arts, the nonprofit youth arts center, located in Minneapolis. We gave creative reigns to Juxta to concept the ornament, who then focused on the cultural corridors throughout the state of Minnesota.

Each ornament is an individual representation of the diverse communities that call the state of Minnesota “home.” Color and imagery depicting East African, Latinx, Indigenous, and Black cultures adorn the sides of the unity triangle ornaments sent to be a part of the 2016 National Tree Lighting Ceremony outside of the White House.
